Bread Pudding with Custard Dip

BREAD PUDDING

1 loaf of white bread cubed (16 oz.)
2 eggs
1 cup sugar
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
½ tsp. cinnamon
1/3 C. raisins (optional)

Mix ingredients and pour over the bread that is in a 9 x 13 greased dish.
Bake at 350 degrees until the top is brown. (One hour or longer.)
 
Use the following vanilla custard recipe for a dip.

VANILLA CUSTARD
¼ C. butter
1/3 C. brown sugar, packed
2 T. cornstarch
2 C. Half and Half (1 pt.)
¼ C. light corn syrup
1 tsp. vanilla

Melt butter until sizzling.  Stir in brown sugar and cornstarch.  Stir in all remaining ingredients.  Cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly until thickened (6-8 minutes).
