Bring to boil, mix, and let cool:
2 sticks butter
4 T. cocoa
1 C. water
With mixer add chocolate mixture to dry mixture:
2 C. flour
2 C. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
Add and beat for one minute:
2 beaten eggs
1/2 C. butter milk (or 1/2 C. milk with 1/2 tsp. lemon juice)
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. vanilla
Pour into greased 15X11X1" sheet cake pan. Bake 25 minutes at 350°.
Frosting:
1 stick butter
1/3 C. milk
3 T. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
1 lb. confectioners' sugar (3 1/2 C.)
1/2 C. chopped pecans (optional)
Bring butter and milk to boil over low heat. Remove from heat. Add other ingredients. Beat well with mixer. Spread over cake as soon as it is removed from oven.
