Upside-Down Cake

Ingredients:
Yellow cake mix and ingredients necessary to make into batter according to package directions.
1/2 stick butter
1 C. brown sugar, packed
1 can (20 oz.) pineapple slices, drained
red maraschino cherries, drained and halved

Directions:
Melt butter in ungreased cake pan.  Sprinkle brown sugar evenly in pan.  Arrange pineapple slices on brown sugar.  Place maraschino cherry halves in center of pineapple slices.  Pour prepared cake mix batter evenly over fruit in pan.  Bake at 350° for 43 to 48 minutes for 13-9-2" pan.  Cool 5 minutes in pan.  invert onto serving platter.
