Pie Crust
Mix:
16 C. Gold Medal All Purpose flour
6 tsp. salt
4 T. sugar
7 C. Crisco
Mix together, then add to dry:
2 C. cold water
4 T. apple cider vinegar
4 eggs
Pie Crust (four crusts)
Mix:
4 C. flour
1 ½ tsp. salt
1 T. sugar
1 ¾ C. Crisco
Mix together, then add to dry:
½ C. cold water
1 T. apple cider vinegar
1 egg
Coconut or Banana Cream Pie (9” pie)
¾ C. sugar
4 T. cornstarch
4 egg yolks
3 C. milk
Cook all together, stirring constantly, then add:
2 T. butter
1 T. plus 1 tsp. vanilla
For Coconut, stir ¾ C. flaked coconut into cooked filling, sprinkle ¼ C. coconut on top of meringue before browning.
For Banana, slice 2 large or 3 small sweet bananas. Layer into bottom on cooked pie shell. Top with cooled filling. Top with meringue, seal to edge. Brown.
Meringue
4 egg whites
6 T. sugar
½ tsp. cream of tartar
