Apple Butter

Ingredients:
4 lbs. cooking apples, peeled, cored, sliced (or one 50 oz. jar unsweetened applesauce)
2 ½ C. sugar
1/3 C. water (do not add water if using applesauce)
2 T. cider vinegar
2 tsp. ground cinnamon
¼ tsp. ground cloves
1/8 tsp. ground allspice
1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg

Directions: 
Place apples in 3 ½ - 4 qt. slow cooker.  Stir in sugar, water, vinegar, and spices. Cover, cook on High for 5-6 hours.  Cool 1 hour. Keeps 3 weeks in refrigerator or 1 year in freezer.
