Peach Cobbler

Ingredients:
2  1-lb cans sliced peaches (drain and
reserve 1/2 C liquid to use in recipe)
1 1/2 C sugar
1/2 C butter
1 1/2 C flour
4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 C milk
1/2 C peach liquid

Directions:
Mix peaches with 1/2 C of the sugar (if fresh, use one qt peaches, mix with 1 C sugar) and set aside.  Put butter in 2 qt or larger pan and set in hot oven to milk.  Mix remaining ingredients.  Pour over melted butter without stirring.  Carefully place peaches on top.  Bake at 350 degrees for 55 minutes, until golden brown.
