Ingredients:
2 lb. chicken, breasts and thighs with skin-on and bone-in
1/4 C. flour
3 T. shortening
Salt and pepper
Directions:
Combine flour, salt, and pepper in plastic bag. Shake each piece of chicken in the bag to coat with flour. In large oven-proof skillet, brown chicken pieces on both sides in hot shortening. Cook covered at 350° for 1 ½ hours or until tender, adding water as needed to keep from drying out. Remove chicken and make gravy of pan juices.
