Banana Pudding

Ingredients:
3/4 C sugar
3 T flour
dash salt
4 eggs
2 C milk
1/2 tsp vanilla
vanilla wafers
5-6 medium size ripe bananas, sliced

Directions:
Combine 1/2 C sugar, flour and salt.  Mix in 1 whole egg and 3 egg yolks.  Stir in milk.  Cook, uncovered in heavy pan stirring constantly until thickened.  Remove from heat; add vanilla.  Spread small amount on bottom of 1 1/2 qt. casserole; cover with layer of vanilla wafers.  Top with layer of sliced bananas.  Pour 1/3 of custard over bananas.  Continue to layer, making 3 layers, ending with custard.  Beat eggs whites with remaining 1/4 C sugar until stiff peaks form.  Pile on top and bake @ 425, 5 min.
