Baked Steak

2 lb. cubed steak
1/4 C. flour
3 T. shortening
One small onion, sliced
Salt and pepper

Directions:
Combine flour, salt, and pepper in plastic bag. Shake each piece of steak in the bag to coat with flour. In large oven-proof skillet, brown meat on both sides in hot shortening. Add onion slices. Cook covered at 350° for 1 1/2 hours adding a little water as necessary to keep from drying out.  Remove steak and make gravy of pan drippings.
